FAQ

We work to promote health with a holistic approach by working in areas that directly or indirectly impinge on it - environmental, social, physical, psychological  and spiritual. We also conduct research to identify problem areas in health, by implementing field interventions, advocacy, policy formulation and recommendations to the government and monitoring the implementation of laws related to public health through active involvement and co-ordination with the public, government, semi-government and other Voluntary organizations. Creating awareness and education of people on matters related to health and hygiene is another major area we work for the betterment of the community.

Voluntary Health Association of Goa (VHAG) is a state unit of Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI)  the largest healthcare NGO in India linking together over 4,500 member institutions across india with branches virtually in every state in the country.

We work with rural communities to provide the health facilities at the doorstep in those areas where basic health facilities are not accesible.

The creative approach we take to conducting our programs and the manner in which we communicate our objectives to those we wish to impact. It is the long term relationships we strive to build with each individual and institution which we continue to develop on a weekly basis through our various programs and workshops.

Since  our team has strived to be in more places and reach out to more institutions in need of help, while maintaining the one to one connection with the communities , which is what we dedicate our work to.

Voluntary Health funding comes from Corporates across India and mainly from Goa, Rotary oragnaizations and along with small donations from friends and family who contribute whenever possible. 100% of the funds raised go into our projects..

We are also working towards developing our own methods of generating revenue, which can then create a stable funding stream for our projects, thereby reducing our dependency on grants and funds from donors, which could vary from year to year.

VHAG is an Indian Ngo and almost all VHAG supporters are Indian or of Indian origin. VHAG has also periodically received support from various organisations that have helped with special requirements.
