Vedanta Community Health Intervention

Sesa Goa Iron Ore is a pioneer in establishing Community Medical Centers (CMCs) in its operational areas with the objective of providing quality health care access to the people at large. 11 CMCs and two mobile health units cater to the health care of our communities. In Goa the CMCs are managed by NGO, Matruchaya Trust. Till date, the CMCs have touched 3, 41,837 lives On 18th August 2017, Mobile Health Unit (MHU) facility was inaugurated at Kirlapal-Dabal Panchayat in collaboration with the Voluntary Health Association of Goa (VHAG). The mobile health unit is managed by a Medical Doctor, a Nurse and a Social Worker. The mobile health van provides primary health care services to the people in and around the villages. Other than regular medical checkup, need based health awareness sessions are also conducted, thereby benefitting larger sections of the society. A nominal fees of Rs. 10/- per patient is charged and rest all services including medicines are provided free of cost. The CMC is open on all days except Sundays. The MHU service is available every Saturday from 9am to 12 pm. The recently inaugurated MHU is benefitting people from Sanvordem Anganwadi & Kirlapal-Dabal Village Panchayat in South Goa, Surla Village Panchayat & Solye in Central Goa, and Mulgaon & Pilgaon Village Panchayats in North Goa.
